Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

"celebrity" miscarriages???

So, I guess it's just because I'm sitting here and watching all of the Oscar stuff on E, but here's my question: do you think it would help others that have had a miscarriage if other people, namely "famous" people were to inform us about what's happened to them?  I mean I know it's an extremely personal thing to share with the world but then again I guess I just want to know that celebrities are "normal" too you know? I think of the Jenny McCarthy books that I was reading when I was pregnant (Belly Laughs, Baby Laughs, etc.) and was just wondering if it would help other women if there was a book written by a "celebrity" that had gone through the same thing we are going through? What do you girls think?  Maybe I'm just looking for support where ever I can find it!!!

Re: "celebrity" miscarriages???

  • I don't know if it would help, but it would be nice to know that they are normal! The only celeb i know about who's had them is Courtney Cox Arquette... and they were pretty vocal about it!

  • Maybe it would help to have a celebrity spokesperson publicly discussing m/c and IF, but I don't know. There are tons of celebrities that have experienced both. I don't know how to post a link, if someone can help, but there's tons of celebrities listed here:

  • singer Lily Allen had a miscarriage last year. That was the only one I could think of after initially reading this post.

I went to the link and learned about a lot more?celebrities. ?:-(

  • I'm sure many many of them have had miscarriages. The odds are just so. I didn't tell many people of my pregnancy but I've been telling many more of our loss. I'm amazed by how many have opened up and said "Me too".

It really is amazing how many people keep quiet about it.  Many of my friends and co-workers all of whom I had no idea had ever suffered any MC's came out and talked with me about their experiences once I told them my situation.  I know that it's painful, but I really wish more people talked about it.

  • I can't believe how many celebs have gone through this!  I was sad looking through each listed name.  But ya it's so true how quiet people are... I haven't told anyone who hadn't known of my pregnancy, but I actually prefer it this way - I could be normal with those who don't know, not getting sympathy looks and questions which would probably depress me even more.
