We were planning on doing a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme, but yesterday when we went to the party store...ds wanted the dinosaur theme. That was my 2nd choice because ds loves dinosaurs right now, but I wanted something gender neutral for the girls at the party (like the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme). Oh well, it's his b-day, so I gave in! Dinosaurs it is!
I am doing a mermaid theme for DD's bday in Aug. I have already started buying things and making things I have found on clearance. I have also booked the club house and pool. As for food we have not decided.
i have said before that i hate themes. but all we did for bday 1 and bday 2 was put a shitton of balloons up, streamers, etc and did it that way. but she did have a SB cake for her 2nd bday
I really have no idea! ?Dd is SUPER into her Care Bears right now, so that could be really cute...but ds isn't as much of a fan. ?I'm thinking of no real "theme" & just making them a kitty cake, since that's something they can both agree on (they LOVE our cat)! ?
We didn't do a theme for Jack's second birthday. We kept 2yrs really casual and just got Jack a cool construction theme cake. We used our plates and such from last year. Nice and easy.
We did a cupcake theme for her 1st b-day and it was SOOO cute! I didn't really want to do a character theme this time around, but DD is super into Diego right now...and I can't deprive her of what she likes. Since Diego is technically boyish (which pisses me off), we are going with an overall jungle theme, but I ordered Deigo plates, balloons, centerpieces, and I will get her a Deigo cake to incorporate what she likes. It won't be as cute as b-day #1, but she's going to love it!
Kaleb LOVES penguins. His lovey is a penguin...everytime he sees penguins he giggles...he walkes like a penguin...and he LOVES the movie Happy Feet etc.. So that's what we're doing. Since Happy Feet is pretty old you can find b-day kits cheap! I'm just going to supplement that w/ other generic decorations.
DD loves Thomas the Tank Engine, so Thomas was on her cake, the napkins, the centerpiece and a balloon that we tied to her chair. It was a small party, so it wasn't really an overhwelming theme, but it made her happy. :-)
I would just choose something that your DC likes.

I'm going to do something with cats and dogs, since that's her current obsession. But by theme, I really only mean that the paper napkins will be that theme. I'll make the cake and all the food. We're probably just going to have a few friends over for dinner.

Re: So we've discussed 1st b-day themes...what about 2nd?
