Help w/paint color and/or wall design

Good Evening Ladies,

I'm hoping we have some design/color experts out there.  We bought our bed linens for our daughter's arrival in May room from Restoration Hardware in silver sage.  Purchased the matching rug (silver sage center/brown border) also.

Our furniture is by Capretti/Toscana Collection in Espresso. So the wood color is dark.

What color, without doing the same wall color as the linens or brown can we do?  I actually would like to do the brown, but the room is too small to do 4 brown walls.

Oh yea, the window treatment will be he 2" dark wood blinds from JC Penney.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!

Re: Help w/paint color and/or wall design

  • Why not just do a crisp white wall?

  • You know I was thinking a nice crisp white as well.  It seems like it would just make the room so nice and soothing.  I should mention, too, that we have dark cherry wood floors, so there's a lot of dark elements to the room

What are your thoughts of doing the color of the bedding on the bottom half of the walls, a brown stripe then white at the top?  Besides the all white walls, thats been my other thought...

    Thanks for answering! :-)

  • i like your idea but flip it. white on the bottom, chair rail in the same stain color as your blinds or furniture and then the sage color on the top.  you don't have to get the exact match to the bedding.  go a few shades lighter but in the same family so it softens things but still coordinates. you could do brown or dark stained wooden letters on the wall that would really pop off that sage color if you're into letters. :)  good luck! the bedding is beautiful.
  • I ordered my bedding from Restoration hardware baby and child also but in cloud.  I have espresso furniture in my room too. I actually ordered the paint in cloud from R&H.  I just think it looks so nice and gives the room a "soft" look that goes with the bedding.  Just curious why are you against painting the wall sage?
  • What about white on top, white on bottom  with a strip in the middle in a design like the bottom of the bed skirt??
  • we are planning on getting bedding with similar colors and with a dark cherry crib.  I think we'll paint the walls a tan color and then use the colors in the bedding for wall accents.
