My son is almost 7 weeks old. He is on enfamil gentlease...which is a very watered down formula. I started giving him 5 ounces a few weeks ago because 4 was just not cutting it. We went to the doc and she told me to give him similac at night since it is more filling. He was becoming constipated from the similac so I stopped it. Now it seems like he wants to eat 6 ounces of the enfamil(day and night). I don't want to overfeed him but he still seems hungry after the 5 (eating hand, crying). What are your opinions??

Re: feeding question??
Feed the baby and don't worry about over feeding. If the baby is being overfed, s/he will spit up. Babies need to eat and they will let you know they've had enough by playing with the bottle nipple or spitting a little up. (
Basic amount of formula per day is 2-3oz of formula per pound of babies weight spread throughout the day.
