OB/GYN Recommendations in Butler County

So, I got a BFP this morning  AHHHH!!!!  :)  Can anyone recommend their dr. and tell me where you delivered.  I used to live in Dayton so my current GYN is in Springboro and delivers in Kettering.  I don't know if I should keep going there? Appts. would be convenient because it's on my way to work and I do like the office, so that's not an issue.  I just wonder if I'd want to find something closer to where I live (Monroe) or if it really matters?

Any advice or recs?

Re: OB/GYN Recommendations in Butler County

  • I have a friend who lives in West Chester who goes to Seven Hills Women's Health Centers. They have several offices and one is in West Chester. They deliver at Christ.

I go to Associates in OBGYN and they have several offices as well. The closest to you would be Springdale (on Rt 4 near the cinemas) or Montgomery (off of Montgomery Rd just north of 275).

  • I also go to Associates in Ob-Gyn and love love LOVE them - the doctors, midwives, and staff are all just wonderful. They deliver at Bethesda North.

Congrats on your BFP! & your kitties are cute :-)

I think it depends on where you want to deliver.  The closest hospital to the south is Mercy Fairfield (I think).  In all honesty I'd rather drive up to Kettering and deliver there.  You might have to drive down to Good Sam or Christ if your MD has a Butler Co office.  If you or the baby had any complications you'd end up at Good Sam or Miami Valley and I think MVH would still be closer.  Plus your current doctor already knows you, so that's a plus.

Thanks!  I also work in Dayton, so I'm thinking that would be more convenient.

  • Have you thought about finding a Dr. that delivers at Atrium Medical Center?  That's pretty close to Monroe isn't it?  I'm thinking about switching doctors to someone that delivers at Atrium or Kettering.  I like my current OBGYN, but I wasn't too impressed with Bethesda North.  I toured the Atrium hospital when it opened and their birthing suites were so nice.

     Congrats on your BFP!

Thank you!  I don't know much about the Atrium Hospital, but I do go that YMCA, so it's very close.

Maybe a stupid question, but how do you go about finding a dr. that delivers at certain hospitals?

  • I found out on my insurance provider's website (Anthem).  They listed the OBGYN closest to my address as well as the hospital they deliver at.

  • Congrats on the BFP!  I also go to Assoc. in OB/GYN, and I too love them.  They are definitely Cinci centered, so it comes back to where do you want to go for all of your appts and how far you want to travel to get to a hospital.
  • I'm also in Monroe. If you have a doctor you love in Dayton, I'd just stick with them. I went to a Cincinnati doctor and delivered at Good Sam. It was fine because I was induced, but I was 4 cm. before I got to the hospital and my sister had super quick labors -- I was terrified DH would be at work when I went into labor and we wouldn't make it to the hospital. Next time I'll deliver closer. I also am not a fan of Mercy Fairfield, so there aren't many options around here (and I can't find a practice that fits what I want that delivers at Atrium). I don't think Kettering's too far.

  • cops-wife - Thanks for the recs.  Any particular reason you don't like Mercy South?  Just curious because I think DH will want me to go there (he grew up near there and his family uses that hospital for everything).

I think I'll look into the Atrium or just stick with my Springboro doc, and deliver in Kettering. We are right next to the highway so we can zip up there just as fast as we could get to Fairfield if needed.

  • Hilltop OBGYN is part of Atrium.  They are all very nice!  I liked Atrium, all went well when I was there! GL!
