Just thought I'd share a few things I've learned.
- We LOVE our Kiddopotomus swaddlers for sleeping. I would not be comfortable putting her in a blanket & swaddling her. Even at one week, Kate squirms enough to get blankets in her face. I'd buy one even if you're not sure you'll use it - they don't have any tags on them, so if it doesn't work, just put it back in the package & return.
- I've gone through way more maxi pads & nursing pads than I ever thought possible. Stock up.
- Buy at least one nursing bra or tank to get you through the first week - I just now feel up to going to Target for more.
- I never thought I'd use the little stretchy cotton hats, but they are great for when she's sleeping & it's a little cool.
Good luck, soon to be mommies! Motherhood is the best!
Re: From a new mom...
I totally agree with the nursing pads: Stock up!!
And I LIVE in my nursing tanks ...STILL. I have yet to find a nursing bra I like.
About swaddling...I thought DS didn't like to be swaddled but it turns out he just wanted to have his hands free so now we swaddle w/o his arms. ?
Kate is the same way.
Thanks for the tips.
And Kate is beautiful!
wow you read my mind! I totally needed to know that. I got a kidopotomus one at WM yesterday for $9 and wasn't entirely sure about it. My neighbor loves hers, so it convinced me to get one.
Beautiful baby!! Love her little outfit!
