is it bad for my baby in any way to have very cold hands? he wiggles out of all the mitts and i will put on a long sleeve shirt that folds over his hands at night, but he just loves his fingers. i just dont want him to get sick. tia!

  • Not bad at all but I imagine not too comfy. Infant athletic socks work well on the hands to stay on. I pull them up over her sleeves.

  • new babies don't have great circulation.  IMO if their bodies are warm, it's not the end of the world if their hands and feet are cold.  I know I've put DS in footed sleepers, or socks, or booties and his feet were still cold.  And our apt. is WARM.  We walk around in t-shirts and no socks and we're fine.

  • DS's hands and feet are usually purple.  The pedi said it is fine as long as the rest of him is warm.  I always keep socks on him anyway, but he'll eventually "grow out of it"

  • My DS's hands were always cold too, sometimes like ice and it freaked me out. ?Like pp, my doc said that as long as his body is warm, his face/hands/feet can be cold and it's because he doesn't have great circulation yet. ?My DS was always mitten and sockless and now his hands and feet are perfectly warm and no harm done. ?
