Dh and I stayed up much later than we usually do (11:30). By 12:30 ds was making lots of crying noises so I went in to settle him down- just rubbed his back and went back to sleep. 1:00 came around and he was doing it again. I got up and rubbed his back and head this time. I noticed he was HOT! I gave him some tylenol and got him to go back to sleep. 2:30: woke up again to him crying. I just went in and brought him back into my bed. I haven't really slept since. He's awful at sharing the bed with mommy and daddy.
6:00, dog starts barking. 6:45 I give in and put ds in his crib and get the dog up, start packing for our trip home to see my parents, and made a HUGE pot of coffee. One of many today I'm sure. DH is still in bed sleeping.
Thanks for letting me vent. I hope ds gets better today- we have to travel an hour and a half then we have a lunch date with my friend. Nani and PopPop are babysitting tonight, so it will be a nice break for me anyhow!
Re: Uggh! Ds had a fever and was awful last night!
Awww, I'm so sorry to hear about your rough night. I just feel so terrible when ds is sick because you know they are uncomfortable, but they can't tell you exactly what, and there is only so much you can do to soothe them. It breaks my heart!
Anyway, hopefully he sleeps in the car and you can too, even if it is only an hour and a half drive! Have a good night out, baby-free too!
We still have a fever. 100.5 by underarm (the paperwork with the thermometer says to add a degree but I don't get it) Trip home is off, night out is off...
I hope my little man feels better soon.
Getting back to it- my diet and exercise blog
Losing it...Without Losing it
I so know where you are at. This was us a week and a half ago. Try ibprophen. It helped with the fever and the aches much better.
FWIW - I don't usuallymedicate fevers under 102. IMO fevers are the body's natural defense against these nasty bugs. I use cold washclothes, cool baths and lots of love.
Good luck! There is nothing worse then a sick baby. Hugs.
