Who did you take to your first appt?

I have my first appointment on the 24th and I plan on bringing my mom with me. Just wondering who everyone brought along with them. Thinking it might be a little awkward when/if they stick a u/s wand up my crotch, but oh well. lol

I brought my husband. It had to be uncomfortable for him while the doctor did the pap and transvaginal u/s, but it was worth it for him to see the heartbeat and the baby.

my boyfriend came. he looked very awkward when they were doing the pap smear. he was actually reading a baby mag!

Well it depends.. My 1st appt was just blood work and weigh in, etc.. oh and cup peeing. My Midwife says, she knows I have a vagina, hense my pregnancy and I just had a normal vag exam in Dec. so I lucked out on the Vag probing.

I took Mr. for the 1st appt then I took my Mr and my Ma to my first u/s. The U/S tech made them wait in the lobby, checked for my bean 1st.. then called them in to show them the baby.. thennnnnn kicked them out for the transvag.

I dont think it matters and for the most part they have enough common sense to kick out ppl before vaginally violating you. If not, they shouldnt be dr's.

Just dh which was a little weird when he was doing the vag u/s but it was great i think he really loved hearing the heart beat

I have a US on the 4th and DH is coming with me but my first prenatal is the 25th and he's not going. I know it's alot of internal exams going on and his work schedule is busy so I'll be all by my lonesome. DH will come to the other ones.

Well, maybe mine isnt the most mature (LOL jk) considerin I am somewhat of a "cougar" as my friends call me but he is not grossed out by much and completely a hands-on + supportive type of guy.

Remember, this is the same man who will be "GARDENING/MAINTAINING" the lower region once I get too big to handle it myself. Now THATS a good man. lol...

My husband. I didn't even consider bringing anyone else until my mom mentioned to me last week that if he couldn't go she gladly would. I'm glad she said something, because I'll happily bring her, but I never would've thought of it!

My husband and I went. They did use the internal u/s probe (lol) but come delivery time I'm sure he will have seen me in all kinds of interesting positions being poked and probed.

My DH went with me. It was so funny...in the middle of the pap, I blurted out (laughing), "Oh--I forgot you've never seen a pap smear before! Are doing okay back there?!" He was totally great with it and supportive throughout the ultrasound.

My husband surprised me and met me there. I was really grateful to have him with me, because he remembered a number of the questions that I had forgotten to ask. I also really wanted him to meet the doctor and be comfortable with him. The exam didn't bother him at all.
