xp: Prayers needed for my friend...

hey everyone...A good friend of mine, Jessica, needs your prayers. She has just found out this morning that her baby doesn't have a heartbeat. This is the 2nd miscarriage she has experienced in the last 4 or 5 mos. I am so upset for her and she of course is devastated. The dr. said that the babys heart probably stopped beating yesterday. She was just starting her 9th week today. Anyone have advice on what I could say to her?

    I'm so sorry for your friends loss. As for what to say to her--I suggest just being there for her, and asking her how she is-if she wants to talk about it she will. You're a great friend for wanting to help her. I am praying for your friend.

    Offer to spend time with her and watch a movie...something to take her mind off of her loss, so of course, nothing with a baby in it! Pray for her and with her, if that helps her. Just the fact that you're on here asking shows that you're a wonderful friend who she can rely on for some support.

    I think keeping busy helps. I mean you still have plenty of time to grieve during the day or at night when she is alone or with DH and when i kept busy I felt somewhat better. When I had my m/c I was 9w6d along. It was so hard and I just would cry if I was at home- which I needed to do but doing stuff did help. Stay away from places that you see babies and write her a nice card or email and let her know that you love her and are so sorry. Sometimes people don't like to talk about it right away so in the card let her know that she can bring anything up when she wants and that you are there.  I felt I could only talk about it when I was ready and I was glad that people understood that. You let her know about this board and that will be a huge help now and for when she wants to try again. Good luck to both of you and I will keep her in my thoughts.
