I am so ashamed to even admit this, but I have to.
Last night my mom and I took DD to the grocery store and to pick up a prescription and dinner. She finished a bottle right before we left, and when she was done my mom put her in her carseat so she could get her shoes on, etc.
Without thinking, I zipped up the Bundle Me blanket on her carseat, loaded her into the car and away we went.
Imagine my horror when we got home from shopping, picking up dinner and the Rx and I unzipped the Bundle Me to let her finish her nap in her carseat without getting too hot...
and saw that she was never buckled in.
I still can't even believe it and want to cry just thinking about what could have happened to her. I thought my mom buckled her, my mom thought I buckled her... I will never EVER make that mistake again.
Re: The ultimate parent fail
Yes, that is scary, and you know you'll never do it again! We did that this summer with DD...put her in her car seat, DH and I settled into the front seat, put the car into drive, and we hear this excited voice from the back seat, "Mommy I don't have to be buckled in anymore!"
Thank goodness she can talk, is all I have to say.
Please refer to my post above about cutting ourselves some slack today. You are an awesome mommy and did not fail.
oops!
I bet you'll triple check now but glad nothing happened
