Is anyone still here?

I have a nursery decor question.

Re: Is anyone still here?

  • I don't know if I can help, but I'm here and I'll try...

  • Well, I will post it in hopes that someone will help me out. LOL

The following is a pic including 2 fabrics we are using for our bedding, the crib as a toddler bed, and one of the wall hangings for our nursery.  I can't decide how to paint the walls.  Originally I thought I would paint them a lighter version of pink from the pink fabric.  The pink fabric won't be used a lot in the bedding.  But I don't know if it will be too overwhelming or not.  Also..I have a few small shelves that are made of iron and came painted off-white.  They are a bit of an ornate twisty look, kind of like the damask pattern in the black and white fabric.  Should I paint them black or white to match the room? I know the off-white won't look good.  Thanks for any input!

  • I think it's very pretty, first of all... Secondly, I think you should paint the walls pink, or maybe like paint one wall pink and the rest white. Oh, and paint the shelves black. :)
  • There are some paint colors that are essentially white, but have an undertone of another color. I would probably pick one of these with a pink undertone, so that you get the hint and sense of pink (like a blush), but it won't be overwhelming. Plus, it will match your wall hanging :-)

As for the shelves, how many do you have? I might paint some white, some black, so as not to become too overwhelming. If you decided to go for the white-based, pink-tinged walls, I would probably paint the shelves white, so that they emphasize the pinkish hue of the walls.

    Hope this helps!

  • I was thinking maybe a really super light grey color. All the colors will stand out against it including the white. What color is the crib?

The crib is in the pic, it's an espresso color.  The dresser and bookshelf are the same color.

Oh I didn't see it! Then maybe not the grey :)
  • What if you did a light pink on the bottom with a chair rail and a off white above the top of the rail and ceiling.  Or you could do all the walls white with a light pink accent wall.
  • I think you should do the walls a very light pink and paint the shelves black.

  • What about painting the walls a very subtle mint green? Then the pink, white, and black would all stand out! :D

?Mint green and baby pink work wonders together! Definitely would make the artwork stand out too!?

?As for painting the shelves try painting them white, and if you don't like the way that looks, paint them black. (It's easier to cover light paint with dark than vice versa.)?

?Here's a link to a room that has the mint green walls with white and pink just to give you an idea: ?https://projectnursery.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/763538421405_0_bg1.jpg?
