Went to the doctors today

in 2nd Trimester
So I'm sick with double ear infections and chest cold!  I went to the doctors today and my doctor was out delivering a baby.  So her back up was the doctor on call.  So there I am, waiting for her in the office, she comes in and listens to my chest, looks in my ears and asks me if I could be pg?  Ok I'm no brain scientist, but I have a huge baby bump and my chart says I'm 24 weeks pg.  Do these doctors not read there patients charts?  Then she didnt know what to give me medication wise because she doesnt deal with pg women.   I feel like a it was a waist of time!  Thank GOD she isnt my doctor!

    Hahaha. Sorry- its kinda funny. I would feel the same way tho. She couldn't get a 2nd opinion?

    OMG! I went to the doctor the other day bc my son had strep throat- and i wanted to make sure i didn't have it.  So as i step on the scale- after having ALREADY told those people i was there bc i was pregnant and worried about having strep- she asks me when my last period was. I tell her- and she GASPS! and then asks if I'm pregnant... SO- i say yes- and tell her AGAIN why i am there! Then, I heard them talking in the hall about what they should give me..and IF they could even give me anything since i'm pregnant...

     

    Luckily... I didn't have it.

    Wow. Isn't that reassuring? My OB referred me to a hematologist for a blood panel and failed to mention I was pregnant. Not to mention the Dr. seemed so surprised when he asked if I was nauseated or had been vomiting and I said, um no more than usual... I'm pregnant, I don't need a diagnosis. It's called morning sickness.

    Yeah glad she is not my doctor.

    I guess you are not as big as you thought is she didn't notice the bump.

    I would be upset, esspecially because I drive an hour to go to my OB.  Don't ALL doctors have to know what meds are safe for pregnant woman.
