3rd Trimester

Oh me oh my...the swelling!

So I've had a ton of finger/wrist pain in the last month and that is where my swelling has been, but WOW it has now moved onto my feet/ankles.

So what to do?  Extra water, feet up, DH massage, any other tips?

Re: Oh me oh my...the swelling!

  • Limit your sodium intake as much as possible.  When you put your feet up, get them above your heart if possible.

  • That's what I've been doing. Give it some time and hopefully it'll go down. Also do eat so much bread it realy does have alot of salt in it. Advice from my mom she had pre-e.

  • Raise your legs, don't sit too long in pants that constrict around the top of your legs.  Whatever happens, under no circumstances, should you attempt to drink a gallon of water in one day in an attempt to pee it all out of you.  It will make you more swollen. Sad

My legs have been swelling for about a 10 days now, hip to toe.  Loose pants are the best for work, since I sit all day.  I found lying on the couch all of last weekend to be gretly beneficial.  Big Smile

  • The joint pain is pregnancy induced carpal tunnel and nothing really helps except limiting activity.
  • Thanks for all the tips ladies!  We'll see what happens tomorrow night.
  • Stay away form salty foods.  Try to elevate your feet as much as possible even when at work.  I spent Thursday afternoon through Monday off my feet in bed or the recliner.  By Saturday morning I had ankles again.  (I have been sick since Thursday)  Now that I am back at work my ankles and feet have started swelling again.
