Seriously, all of the Medium maternity shirts I ordered on Target's website a couple of months ago are waaaay too big. Not just in the belly, but in the chest, shoulders, everywhere. I keep hearing 'order your normal size that you wore pre-preg" but so far I'm having to get smalls in order to have anything that actually fits! I was always a medium, sometimes large, pre-pregnancy.
I'm exchanging a M shirt from Moterhood Maternity for a S after work, so it's not just Target.
Anyone else having this issue?
Re: Are you having to buy mat. clothes one size smaller than normal?
I don't think MM takes returns. Not sure about exchanges, but I've heard they're Draconian return policy means you either make damn sure you like it before you buy it, or deal with it. That's the main reason I refuse to step foot in that store.?
But to answer your question, no. So far everything I've bought in my regular size fits fine, if only a smidge baggy in the belly area (which will be fine later). ?

They do exchanges or in-store credit w/in 10 days of purchase, so if I return it now I can get a different size.
I normally wear med. my maternity wardrobe consists of a handful of smalls, mostly meds, and few larges. Trust me the larges that my much taller sister passed down to me and I thought no way in hell would fit me were mostly what I wore the last few weeks. It helps to have a variety of sizes to accommodate the changes of your pregnant body.
That being said I do feel certain style shirts don't follow the rule. For instance, maternity polos seem to run big. I wore a sm polo at the end of my 1st pregnancy when I was wearing larges and my sister wore a med polo when she was wearing XL.

Have you tried the tops on with the belly that they have at Motherhood. It is a 7 month along tummy that you wear under the clothes you want to buy. I helps to give you an idea of what things are going to look like in a few months.
No! I didn't know they had that! Thanks for telling me, I'll make sure I try that next time I'm buying tops there.
