How long did you use your pre-preg. clothes?

(Sorry if this post comes out twice. My computer is acting up).

I've been using the belli band since I was 10 wks. So far, I've been able to find enough pre-pg shirts to cover it up. But, my pants are starting to get tight in the crotch.

When did everybody make the official switch to completely maternity clothes? I thought I could stretch my regular clothes out longer than this.

Re: How long did you use your pre-preg. clothes?

  • i'm still wearing pre-preg clothes but that ends this week when my shipment from old navy comes in.
  • Loading the player...
  • i'm still using pre preg clothes, some mat stuff here and there though.....
  • I wore my pre-pregnancy pants until around 18-19 weeks, and still wear some of my old shirts.
  • i use all my pre preg clothes minus some pants with a bella band
  • I can still make some pre-pg shirts work, and my pre-pg jeans as long as I have a hair-tie to link the button.  I did start wearing mat pants at about 12 weeks through, because the bloat was so ridiculous.  By the time the bloat went away, the baby bump was there.
  • Approaching 19 weeks and still wearing pre-pg clothes.  A couple of my tighter sweaters are being pushed to the bottom of the pile since they don't fit as well anymore.  I should  note that most of my pants were a little big in the waist to begin with so that has helped...
  • I am wearing my regular clothes, I've just been doing the rubber band trick with my jeans. ?I'm getting ready to switch over to maternity jeans though, it will be so much more comfortable!
  • I still wear pre-preg clothes- I just have to make sure if I wear jeans that my shirt is long.  When I was pg with DD I didn't need to, but wore some mat. clothes by 14 weeks.  Now- I am avoiding them for some reason- even though I am twice as big as I was with her- haha!

  • I still have one pair of pre-pg jeans that fit most of the time.  They're low rise and have a bit of stretch in the fabric - I always had to wear a belt pre-pg.  Some of my shirts are long and styled in a way that they are still working too.
  • About 15-16 weeks, I started giving up.  Then maternity pants were just so much more comfy, I had to do the total switch.

  • my pre-pg pants dont fit anymore, i am in mat pants now. some of my regular shirts still work, but most are too short, so i have bought new shirts that are not maternity shirts, just more of a flowy/longer style, so i can still wear them once i deliver. the mat shirts are waaaay too big at this point.
  • Still wearing them.  I don't have much of a bump to speak of... its the boobs that don't fit any longer!
  • i'm still wearing pre-preg clothes too. In my first pregnancy (last year) I didn't really start wearing them til April...DS was born in July.

  • I switched to maternity pants at about 13/14 weeks and haven't looked back. But I'm still wearing my pre-pg shirts. Every week there are fewer and fewer that work, so I've been slowly integrating maternity shirts.

One tip I have is to buy a couple of maternity tank tops to wear under your regular shirts.

  • I started wearing maternity pants at about 24 weeks sometimes...by 27 I had to wear them all the time.  I was able to find some cute shirts that aren't maternity that work for now, so no maternity shirts yet!

  • I'm down to 3 pairs of jeans that I use a hair tie on. I haven't had to change into M shirts yet. But I did order a bunch of stuff last week that is coming today. I hope some of it works because I have a client meeting tomorrow and I really shouldn't wear jeans.

  • I still wear all my shirts, but 12 weeks where it for the pants.  I was so bloated I couldnt wear them.

  • I can still wear most of my pre-preg. tops.  Did buy some maternity ones though, for the really "big" days.  Made the switch to maternity pants yesterday....UPS delivered my Old Navy shippment.
  • I just bought some maternity clothes this past week. I am wearing my jeans for the first time today! I don't have a bump yet, but the bloat is so bad still after lunch. I plan on using some of my bigger pre pregnancy pants with my bella band and the maternity pants for a while. The maternity pants are so comfy though!

  • I started rubber banding my pants at 13 weeks, transitioned to maternity pants between 15-16 weeks.  i am still wearing my regular shirts (longer looser ones) with no problems.

  • I've bought 2 pairs of mat pants, but my old "fat" jeans still fit. Everything else needs a Bella Band, but even that is getting tight. I have a bunch of mat shirts, but they still look kind of ridiculous ....
  • Im in week 17...still holding on strong
  • At 9 weeks I started buying a bigger pants size in regular clothes.  At 16 weeks I started wearing maternity clothes full fledge.  I can't stand pants that are low rise so I needed pants with the full panel to feel comfortable.
  • I'm making the switch this week too from the bella band to maternity clothes. ?I'm 18 weeks. ?Everyone is different though!

  • I've been wearing maternity clothes since about 14 weeks, I started showing then.  I put all the other clothes in storage right after Christmas!
  • I am still in pre-preg clothes with the the help of my belly band & b-buckle on some but some seem to still fit OK for some reason.
  • I'm still wearing most of my pre-pg clothes.  I've bought a couple pairs of jeans a size up and they are loose so they should work for awhile.  Haven't had to buy anything maternity yet.
  • I'm 22 weeks tomorrow and still wear pre-pg clothes-most pants are with the help of the bella band (or I wear some larger sized "fat" pants from when I was a few pounds heavier). Some shirts don't fit just because they're too short to cover up the bella band on my pants, but some still work ok. Most mat pants are still a little too big on me right now.
  • I switched to maternity pants at around 19 wks., and I can still wear a few of my regular shirts, but I do wear mostly mat. shirts now.
  • I'm still in pre-preg clothes and project that i'll be in them for at least another month with my new bella band!
  • I was wearing regular jeans with the rubber band trick until a couple weeks ago. That's when my Liz Lange pants finally showed up from Target. The regular jeans were pretty low on my waist though, they never would have lasted had they been regular rise pants. I do still occasionally wear a pair of NY&Co pants that don't have buttons/zippers. They're not really elastic but they're stretchy (but look nice, not like sweats).?

With shirts I have a few ON maternity tees, but can still wear most of my regular stuff because I've always preferred slightly baggy shirts. My boobs haven't really gotten that much bigger, just about a cup/band size.?

  • Im still using my pre-preg pants I have maternity jeans from target but have to get them adjusted at the bottom they are huge and cover my whole foot. Once I get them fixed I will start wearing them all the time.
  • Still wearing mine! ?Pants are getting uncomfortable though!
  • I'm still wearing all pre preg clothes too. I have bought a few pieces here and there...mostly pants.
  • I'm still wearing pre-pg clothes. Which is fine by me since maternity shopping in my area sucks. Some of my jeans are starting to get a lil tight...time to start the hairband trick!
  • It really depends on your body. I have a friend that wore regular pants until she was nearly 30 weeks. I had to drop the Bella Band around 16-17 weeks, & that was pushing it. I think I had on or 2 pairs of pants left that I could do the Bella Band with then. My tops are getting to the point that they don't really cover my tummy well. I figure another week & I'm done. My fleece pants & yoga pants are still okay.

I will say though, our boy has been measuring ahead @ our u/s & when my OB has measured my ute, & we tend to have HUGE kids in our family. I was really petite pre-BFP too. Given this, it's probably not surprising I started showing early & grew out of regular clothes early too.

  • Pants- I have been using a band since around 10 weeks (depending on the pants) and now I am using them for all of my pants.  I finally caved in and bought two pairs of actual maternity pants this weekend but have not worn them yet.

Tops- Luckily it is winter so I have been able to pull off my pre-preg clothes until.... now.  I am starting to find locating a top that doesn't show off my belly difficult.  I am a teacher and am not ready to tell my students but I have yet to tell my student's that I am expecting but it is getting more difficult to hide it.  I don't feel like spending money on winter tops with only a few weeks left.
