What's wrong with a DD?

Just curious........why the big deal?

If someone writes something and gets flamed and they delete it later, who cares? I know when i was on the Knot (many moons ago) under my old user name,  I wrote something about my wedding invitations but worded it the wrong way, or it just came across the complete wrong way...needless to say, the board went nuts over it.

It made me feel really bad (probably pre-wedding nerves and emotions) because it was not what I meant to say and they wouldn't let me explain. I gave up and ignored it. But of course, i deleted it later. It just made me mad.

Just curious why there is always a big commotion when someone deletes their post?   And I seriously mean this in the nicest way, not trying to be a smarta$s, I just may be missing something.

Re: What's wrong with a DD?

  • Because it makes you look like a chickenshit who couldn't handle the heat.

It's different if you say you may DD something in your post (like I did in my in-law post a few days ago).  If it's something you don't want a relative or friend to accidentally stumble upon, it's different.

  • If we take the time to answer something (expecially if I give a serious answer) and then you delete it, I feel like I wasted my time.

Also, it takes away my post count!

  • because it always looks like someone is trying to cover their tracks or something sneaky. ?If you said it, you said it. ?Leave it.
  • ok.....so, how are you all finding that they deleted their post?  Do you keep a short list next to your PC of the most idiotic posts and periodically re-check them to make sure they are still there?  LOL

    Stick out tongue

  • because it makes you look like a huge coward. if you cant handle what strangers on the interwebs say then stfu or go find another board. the end.
  • Post count? Ha. Okay.

No..it's easy to look down a few posts and realize something you were reading/responding to is gone...

That's what I thought Jelli. I can picture you at your OB/GYN and him going over a check list of do' and dont's during your 2nd tri and him asking at the end, 'What about any DDs? Have you been monitoring them, keeping them all in check?"

    Big Smile

It's pretty hard to miss an idiotic post going AWOL.

FWIW, you're starting to make yourself sound more and more annoying.
