Britti-or any other Californians who are due tax refunds

I mailed mine off about a week ago, and we're due a refund from the state.  I fully expect to get the IOU, but how do they notify you that you're getting one?

Yeah, well they apparently have run out of money.  Bastards.

  • We're owed money as well and was told by my CPA that we'll most likely get a notice in the mail with an IOU. I'm hoping thats not the case!!!
  • Why IOU? Am i missing something. Don't they supposed to credit your account or send you a check in the mail within 21 days or so?
  • We live in the Bay Area, but thankfully we were in AZ all last year and don't have to worry about the IOU.

I was wondering because I requested the funds be deposited electronically.

At any rate it irritates me, does this mean that I don't have to pay my property taxes? lol

I see. I assume should be a same process, but you just getting IOU instead of the check in the mail.

there is no money to give. but while everyone waits for their iou's the government is busy with their million dollar furniture fund to update their offices.

DH's contract was up in December and they still haven't even started the negotiations for the new one. They're due for a 7% raise but who knows. They cut back on OT for all police officers and Santa Barbara even laid off a few. Luckily DH is high up enough to not have to worry, and the city he works for needs all the officers they have.

I was thinking the same thing!! I heard you get something in the mail from them acknowledging the IOU.
