3rd Trimester

Who here has been ummm... less than diligent with Prenatals?

Ok I'm going to be honest, I've been really really bad about taking my prenatal vitamins. I just have never been able to remember them? I think I eat fairly well though..anyone else?? Please don't yell at me

Re: Who here has been ummm... less than diligent with Prenatals?

  • Lately I keep forgetting to take them, oh well?

  • HOW DARE YOU! Don't you know you're endangering your child???

Really: I'm supposed to take 3 a day. some days = 1, other days =2, once in a while =3, and just to catch up days =4.

    To me, it's just life.

  • um... that would be me.... ::hangs head in shame::
  • Me too...Embarrassed

As long as you're eating a balanced diet you & baby are fine.  I'm trying to be better though!

  • throughout the entire pregnancy. I actually only remember when someone mentions it on here or DH sees them and hands them to me. When I read about it though, I remind myself to take them but half the time forget.
  • ::raises hand::

I honestly for the love of all that's holy try to remember. I even keep the bottle on my kitchen counter, and I still forget some days.

  • Yes, me! Now I will go stand in the corner.
  • I havent taken them since early in my 1st tri... they made me nauseous. I started taking Flinstones but unfortunately I havent been taking them as often as I should.

  • I don't have that problem.  I have them right next to my bed and right before bed I take one.  It is part of my nightly routine.  I also put an alarm on my phone before to remind me.  GL
  • I am guilty as charged!  Once they stopped manufacturing my prescription pre natals I switched to OTC ones.  The script ones could be taken without food, and now the OTC ones need to be taken with food.  I used to be good about taking the script ones, but am terrible about the OTC ones.  I chalk it up to making sure I have food in my stomach when I take it but seem to only remember I need to take it when my stomach is empty.

  • I have been forgetting a lot.  I try to remind myself everynight but I get lazy.
  • i was really good (every day) through first and most of second tri, now i rarely remember. but I have also been incorporating a lot more veggies and fruit into my diet as a result of the GD diagnosis.

  • Haven't taken mine since mid 2nd tri.. somehow I think she'll be okay.. haha
  • I was REALLY bad with them 1st tri because even water was making me puke.  Burping up that fish oil taste?  Noooot good.  As a result, I hate taking prenatals, but DH just gets me a big glass of ice water, plops the two pills down in front of me every night and stands there until I take them.  I curse him for his diligence.

  • iv been trying to take them everynight but this last month i throw them up more than i keep them down that is when i remember lol

i feel extra guilty though cause because i know i really do need them they have me on special one plus extra iron

  • I would say I average taking them about 4 times a week. Some weeks better than others. In fact, this post has reminded me to take them! I actually packed them to take with lunch.
  • ::sigh:: I never was very good at taking a pill every day...
  • Yeah, I've been less than perfect.  I switched to a chewable and for some reason that's a little easier to remember than the regular horse-pills that you have to swallow.  I still don't take them as often as I should and I'm supposed to take extra iron, too, but those make me feel crappy so I really don't like them.
  • omg you just reminded me!  I'd totally forgotten that I ran out and need to refill.  I wonder how many days I would've gone without noticing.
  • It's part of my routine now.  I have them on the kitchen counter and I always remember to take it after i've poured myself my big glass of milk each morning.

  • ME!  I am terrible about taking them.  And the worst part is that I am not even really keeping a good diet either... :/

It's so weird because when I was taking the BC pills, DH would make fun of me at how diligent I was about taking them at the exact same time every day and never missing one and now, that it actually really makes a difference to my child, for some reason, I can't seem to remember to take them!

Hopefully everything will be ok with the baby in the end... :/

  • I remember that with DD, I went through several bottles over the pregnancy. With this one? Still on my first bottle. DH has started putting them in front of me every morning at breakfast. He says it's his job now.

  • I only took them for the first trimester with my first child and she's always been a healthy and smart girl. I know they are really good for you but I don't think it's the end of the world if you don't take them like we're told.
