2nd Trimester

scared

I had my big u/s on tuesday and the baby was breech! I am so worried that she won't flip around and I"ll have to have a c-section. By the time we were done with the ultrasound, she was laying sideways (transverse) and I know it's early but I'm still scared!!!

Re: scared

  • Try not to panic yet...its so early, she'll have plenty of time to move before your EDD. :)

  • Don't be scared...they will turn a million times before you deliver.
  • My baby was breech at the big u/s too.  This really means nothing when you're only 20 weeks.  Baby still has lots of room to move around in there and will probably flip around many times before he runs out of room.  There is seriously no reason to be worried at this point.

  • You're fine.  You're baby's fine.  Just in the time to do the ultrasound the baby changed positions-what makes you think in the 20 weeks you have left the baby won't change positions again?  Plus, most babies don't fully flip until late in pregnancy.  No sense in getting worked up about this now.

  • Woah.... calm down. Baby has a whole 20 more weeks to flip. Chill out. It'll be ok!
  • My first didn't flip head down until 35ish weeks. I wouldn't even think about worrying until you are 32ish weeks but even then there is plenty of time to turn.
  • Our baby boy was breech at the 18 w u/s and they didn't say anything about it.  They just typed a note on one of the pictures, which is the only reason I know since the tech didn't say anything.  As pp mentioned they have so much room still and they will flip and turn a couple more times.

    ditto =)

  • The baby will be flipping around a lot. I had a friend who was panicking when her baby was breech at 36 weeks, and her baby still managed to scoot around.

  • She has plenty of time to move!  We had our big u/s around 18 weeks and the baby was also breech, but the u/s tech said that the baby's position will vary day-to-day, there is so much movement going on.
