I once fired my old boss. That was a fun day.
The ex-store manager of a home decorating store went down to part time sales to help out w/the transition when I took it over. She would rarely work the hours she posted as her availability and I caught her stealing. She was taking our stuff and using it for displays... at her new job. I canned her.
Same place, the owner's wife was my employee. Totally weird situations all around, lettttt me tell you lol
Re: Post random weird facts about yourself
I was involved in a bank robbery. (I was a teller, not the robber.) Probably the weirdest day of my life.
Second weirdest day -- I had to bail a bunch of drunk ex-KGB officers out of jail in Germany. They didn't want to leave with me because I was a woman. so I ended up leaving a couple of them in jail overnight. The next day they were happy to let me bail them out.
At my old job, I had a guy come in looking for a job list. He had been in there a few times before, and had asked me out a few times. I told him thank you, but no thank you. The last time I saw him, he said I was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and proceed to *show* me how I made him feel. I paged security and he was arrested for indecent exposure.
BTW - I was pregnant with L at the time. He was a weirdo.
I'm probably going to get flamed.
I called CPS on a very good friend of mine over 10 years ago. Everytime I went to her house I thought about doing it. Her coffee table was covered with glasses with spoiled milk in them. Roaches were so bad I had to flick them off of me. The fleas were so bad. Garbage was over flowing in the kitchen and there were piles of soiled clothes starting in the bedrooms and ending up in the hallway.
Her DD was maybe 9 months old. I tried talking to her (my friend) many times. I offered to clean the place up for her. The last straw was when she was watching someone else's child. I walked in and found the other baby chewing on an empty cigarette pack that was from the pile of garbage in the kitchen. I know, the last straw should have been a long time before that.
When I called CPS I asked to remain anonymous. They told her where the phone number came from. She told me that thanks to me CPS is going to be in their lives for the next 7 years. She has not spoken to me since.
Thank you. It's good to know it was the right thing. It was just very difficult to do to a close friend of 10 years at the time.
