You're at a health clinic with your infant child. As you leave you notice another mother wrapping her tiny newborn up in several heavy blankets. When pulling out of the parking lot you see that the mother is walking down the road with her baby. It's very cold out (actual temperature in the teens, not sure about windchill.)
Would you offer the mother a ride? Would you just keep driving? WWYD? ?
Re: WWYD re: mother w/newborn.
Most likely keep driving because if I was the mother walking I would NEVER accept a ride from a stranger, and I would be creeped out by someone asking me if I need a ride. So in order to not scare the walking mom I'd keep driving.
Keep in mind that you're another mom with an infant and that you just bumped into each other in the clinic waiting room. Not quite as scary as just any random stranger...
We already know you took her home LOL
I would probably ask if she needed or wanted a ride, with or without the carseat, it's too damned cold.
I don't think I could just continue driving..... I'd stop for sure and if she does not want a ride, maybe I'd see if I can help some other way.
Did you stop? :-)
It wasn't me, LOL. It was my sister. ;-)?
She called me this morning after taking her newborn to the health clinic and asked me what I'd do. My sister felt so bad seeing this woman out in the cold with her baby. If she had an extra carseat she said she would've offered the woman a ride, but she didn't know what to do since there wouldn't be a seat for the baby. She ended up just driving on by, but called me because she felt so guilty.?
I probably would've done the same thing, but I often do have an extra carseat in my car...?
I would probably have done what your sister did - drove by and then felt guilty for not knowing what to do.
This post made me feel a little gloomy.
That's what I thought, too!
