Luca started to look squished.. his elbows were rubbing on the sides... that's when we moved him. The carrier was also getting way too heavy.. It's much easier to get him in and out of the bigger seat... and he can see better because the sides are more open...
Connor's feet were starting to hang pretty far out the end when we switched him, even though he was probably still 5-6 pounds away from the weight limit. Even with his small size, it was getting heavy to lug around too. The convertible car seat was much easier for me to get him in and out of and he liked it too. He was about 7 months when we switched I think.
Bleh - I was hoping to keep her in the infant seat through the summer. I know she'll be heavy, but the thought of those car seats just baking in the car makes me cringe.

How long is she? I think it's pretty unusual for a baby M's age to outgrow the infant seat.

She's 26 inches - she grew almost two inches in a month! I know it's unlikely for her to keep growing at that rate, but I was hoping she'd stay in the infant seat until a year old.
