is "too distracted to eat" just a stage...

or am I screwed?

Since DS started crawling a week ago, he has been terrible at nursing - way too distracted by EVERYTHING to focus on eating. He loves doing backbends off my lap. I try sitting in a quiet, dark room but that doesn't help. He's making up for it by nursing all night long.

Is this something he'll grow out of, or will he be this way until he's done nursing? (I know you are all psychic!)

Re: is "too distracted to eat" just a stage...

  • For us that was a stage... DD did grow out of it and I think it lasted for about 4 maybe 6 weeks...

It was really frustrating b/c I pump at work and my supply was dropping, so I thought that I might have had to stop BFing.  But, DD got through the stage and my supply increased and everything was better.

    Hang in there!

  • DD went through that too! It was just a phase.
  • I agree with pp- should be just a stage. Stick with it and GL!
  • ahhh thank you. I was hoping it was just a phase but it's always good to hear confirmation from others!
