  I completely agree. I really wish you could do that! But then, when people go to buy you a gift, they usually don't check your registry online first, they just go to the store and print the registry there. So if they got there and the store didn't have one on file, they'd probably be annoyed.

  If you google "universal baby registry" a few other sites pop up as well - onebabyregistry.com, thethingsiwant.com, mygiftlist.com

  but myregistry.com is probably the best one out there
