We are debating "roles" in our household and it got me to thinking... what are your roles?

We kind of have a different situation. I do it all for 2 weeks and then when he is home, he steps up and does a ton, but I still help.

I think this will change with a nanny though since she'll clean.

hard to say. we have certain things that we do- i always put up the clean dishes, he always puts away the laundry. but most stuff it just depends on what we've got going on. with the kids, we have roles as well- but only when it comes to certain things. ray almost always gives tru a bath and puts him to bed. i almost always get him dressed in the morning. but really we share.... i guess in the end, we're both pretty fluid about everything.

We just redid our Chore Draft and we don't stray from that. And I do get BFing creddit (10 points) since it takes time. The only additional baby chores are emptying the diaper trash and washing F's laundry.

This cracks me up. If H was home regularly, we would use this system.

I made a power play this time around since DH was such an ass about assigning points. I now mow the lawn and he has to mop the floors and clean the bathrooms...bwah!

We both work fulltime now, so everything is pretty much equal. Plus, we have a housekeeper who comes once a week and a yard guy every 2 weeks. When I was parttime, I obviously did more around the house bc I was home more.

A few assignments.

We have worked out some usual tasks (like him doing the catbox and trash).

Other tasks are left up to the motivated party.

We both cook, clean, and do child-related tasks.

Hmmm...I'm the planner and he's the laborer. hahaha Like I do all the appointments, budgeting, paying bills, making list of things to do, etc... His main duties are dishes and trash. I do feel guilty sometimes so I'll do laundry and fold clothes (I enjoy the smell of clean clothes). Everything else is "outsource". I think everything related to DD is equal, but he does wake up in the morning with her on the weekends for me to sleep in. Then I'm in charge of getting her to nap.
