Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Order of teeth

DD had her first tooth break this week and its her upper tooth.  Not the upper front tooth but the one next to the front one.  Is this weird?  I keep reading that the bottom front two come in first then the top front two.  Anyone else's kid have teeth come in a different order? Thanks!

Re: Order of teeth

  • i have seen babies where the top front teeth come before the bottom, but not that tooth. i guess it doesn't matter what order they come in as long as they come in, right?

  • Joseph's came bottom front together, then top two about a week apart, then bottom eye teeth, two days apart, then top eye teeth two days after that. We're working on molars now. Yay.
  • I'd say that they typically come in in pairs. 2 bottom front, 2 bottom top, 2 side top, 2 side bottom and so on and so forth. DD's haven't come in that way though except for the first 4 after that it's been a crap shoot.

  • Not weird at all.  All babies are different.  DD had the following order:

    bottom front tooth

both upper teeth next to the front teeth

    upper front tooth

    other bottom front tooth

    other upper front tooth.

The "normal" is just an average, I think it is more a grouping order.  For instance, the first 6 were DD's first six, just not in the order people talk about.
