I'm 11 weeks, and was looking to buy some summer maternity clothes, even though it's early, because I love to shop.
I'm normally a 10, and thankfully haven't put on any weight yet. but I have 36 c-d (depends on the bra) boobs, that seem to have grown a little since being KU.
Should I buy medium or large tops? i figure when it starts getting a little nice here, I'll be 20-25 weeks.
Thanks!
Re: Maternity clothes q re:old navy
Ha ha, I was JUST on ON buying maternity clothes for summer!
Generally, whatever size you can fit now, is the size you should buy in maternity. But, I tend to buy shirts in a size larger from ON, because I don't like shirts that fit too snug and I feel like that's how ON tops are. So, I go up a size for a little extra room...especially in the summer when you may be warm and uncomfortable with a big belly anyway. JMO (Oh, I'm also pretty tall, so that's another reason I got up a size-for the length since I don't think they have the "tall" in maternity...unless I missed it)
I purchased a lot of 35 mat clothes on ebay. All size large (I am normally the same pant and bust size as you).
Some of the large tops are still huge on me, while others are just right. I think it really depends on the top.
I lucked out as it seems the lighter tops are larger, exactly when I'll need them.
I would't go crazy this early if I were you, it is hard to tell this far out what you will be comfortable in later.
My boobs get huge during PG, I go from a normal C cup when not PG or nursing to a giant F cup at the end of my PG. All that being said, even with huge knockers, I have been able to buy my maternity clothes in the same size as I would pre-pg, and that includes old navy sizing. The exception to that for me is about the last 3-4 weeks of the PG, when nothing I own fits or feels good..
I think it is nearly impossible to buy clothes that will fit you from the time the need maternity clothes until the time you deliver, if you want your clothes to "fit". You can buy big and swim in the them in the beginning and still have them fit, but I have opted for buying some stuff that fits well in the 2nd trimester and most of the 3rd, and some stuff a bit bigger for closer to the end of the PG. I end up wearing the smaller maternity clothes after the babby while I try and shrink back down to normal size.
Anyway, hard to predict, dont buy everything you need now, but i think buying a few pieces in your normal size would be safe.
I have bought all my maternity clothing so far from ON.com. They have 'real waist' pants that are just like extra low rise pants, instead of the maternity pants that go up over your belly..yuk. I usually wear a medium in the tops so I've been buying larges.
