Homemade "toys"

I bought a knitting book, yarn, needles just 1st tri. I was planning on making little knitted toys. That is so not happening at this point. I haven't knitted in years, and I couldn't even remember how to cast on.

But, I want to "make" something for the baby... Have any ideas?

well i make bup cloths and paci clips and hairbows anyway, so i ahve made some for her, and i make taggies and knit, so i have some booties and stuff i made a long time ago, saving them for my baby...some things with mistakes in them that i didnt want to sell or give away etc....
