104.3 Fever

I don't think either of my kids have ever had a fever like this.  Poor Keira has had a fever and a cough since Sunday.  It's bounced between around 100 - almost 102 but always came down with tylenol until yesterday.  Yesterday it came down but not all the way.

This morning she woke up at 4:30 and she was HOT, I took her temp and it was 104.3.  I called the doctors office (we were planning on bringing her in today but the temp kind of freaked me out so I called), they said to give her Motrin and that if it did not get below 102 in an hour to call them back, luckily after an hour it was down to 100.9.  We are definitely bringing her in today.  The office opens at 9.

I feel so bad for my baby.  She's just not herself the last few days.

    Poor girl.  My dd runs very high fevers when she gets them so I know the HOT that you're talking about.  They are very scary.  It is good that it dropped with the Motrin.  Keep us posted on what the doc says.  I really hate high fevers.

    Yeah, she doesn't normally run fevers.  She had a double ear infection a few weeks ago and no fever.  If she ever does have one it is usually low grade and doesn't last long.

    Boy, in reading some other sposts, fevers seem to be a hot topic lately.

    I hope all our kids feel better soon!

    aw poor thing!  I know that hot you are talking about and its very scary...but as long as you can get it to go down thats a good thing.  Just keep her very hydrated and keep us posted.

    Oh no! I am so sorry she's not feeling good!! Any fever is scary- but I *hate* when they get that high!
