Pregnant after 35

Went for 2nd blood test

Did my 2nd blood test this morning and in two days we see the doctor for another ultrasound.  Thursday can't come quick enough it was a very long weekend.  I am praying to see some doubling numbers and better news.  No spotting since Friday and still have all my symptoms I am noticing the nausea is getting worse.  I am not throwing up but the sick stomach feeling is not fun.  Everything I eat today makes me sick to my stomach and I can feel it.  My breasts have also gone from hurting just at night to all day long and I can't hug my husband close anymore.  My co-worker says it is the cold that makes my breasts hurt more and we are having some cold and rainy days here.  My cousin who had red bleeding and cramping a week ago is doing much better I am so happy for her!  They found a little heartbeat and she hopes to hear more on Wednesday.  She told me she did not see her yolk sac until she was 6 1/2 weeks so that made me feel better.  We both agreed we don't like this first trimester it can be so nerve-wracking!  I hope everyone is having a good Monday.  I am almost off work and ready to climb back into bed I am so tired!

Re: Went for 2nd blood test

  • Just wanted to tell you that I had brown spotting very early on during my first pregnancy.  I can remember freaking out over the spotting.  There was cramping also.  My doc put me on six weeks of pelvic rest.  I was 38 at the time I conceived and delivered a healthy baby girl at age 39.

All of the other symptoms you're experiencing are a good sign.  I remember that my boobs hurt so badly I couldn't sleep on my stomach anymore!  I have a feeling you'll be just fine but wanted to offer my story as a way of reassuring you.

Good luck and please keep us posted!

  • Yes, I also agree with the PP, all the symptons that you're having are a very good sign.  I'm still dealing with M/S (guess I'm just special that way!)  and my friends are being very supportive and say that the more sick you are the better of a pregnancy it is!  not sure if their blowing smoke up my you-know-what or just being supportive...but (and I hate to say this) enjoy these days of tender breasts and M/S, it's all part of who you will become in the next few months!  :o)

  • Nausea and sore boobs are good signs of your pregnancy hormones going up. Nausea hit me hard after 8 weeks and I still have a little. Mostly I have a weird taste in my mouth that lasts all day and gets worse when my stomach is empty. Try to eat small meals every 3-4 hours and don't run on empty, that's when the nausea gets worse. And I still have sore boobs too, so like pp said, get used to those symptoms, many more to come!

  • I'm sure your numbers will be fine. And I spent my whole 1st Tri wanting to throw up but not. And the boob pain is pretty special. Don't worry though, when you and your cousin hit the 2nd Tri many of your fears will be eased and even more symptoms will lessen.
  • Ditto on the nausea for the whole 1st trimester but no throwing up.   And my yolk sac was late in showing up too.   We were certain it was a blighted ovum and I was just waiting to miscarry - but it showed up when it was ready and Ms. baby is currently doing great.    Hang in there - sending you great number vibes!!

  • I hope the results are good and then you can take a breathe for at least one day and enjoy. This whole process is a big stress especially for us AMA's. I feel like we waited each month with IF to get a BFP and then waited for appts, sonos, b/w..and everyday is a milestone. GL and try to relax, sounds silly but so impt!
  • All those symptoms are fantastic!!!  I was wishing for m/s as I didn't have it with my last pregnancy!  Boy did I get it this time around....fully embracing it though!!  I hope all you results come back good so your mind can be more at ease!  Keep us posted!!
  • Left Hug  Hope you get good news soon!

  • Thank you ladies for your supportive responses!  I woke up this morning seriously sick to my stomach and brushing my teeth is such a chore I feel like gagging it is bad.  I got some food in my stomach and the nausea has calmed down but I can feel it start to slowly come back.  I love sleeping on my stomach but right now it is not a good option with these sore boobs.  They are also swelling up like crazy which DH loves but he can't touch them they are so sore. I also noticed something odd I am not breaking out on my face but breaking out on my boobs which I never do.  Has anyone experienced this?  Thanks for the awesome support everyone here is so amazing!! Smile
