I have seen raves about shoes in the past, and was hoping you all can recommend your favorite brands, and/or sites to order them from. I still have never bought the boys a pair of shoes!!
When they were little, I bought almost everything from Target since they weren't in them for very long. I would just buy a whole bunch and let them grow into them.
Now, even though I hate the price, I can really see the difference with Stride Rites. Our store is excellent at measuring feet.

Before DD was walking I had her in just little sneakers from BRU. They were mostly to keep her feet warm and to keep her from taking her socks off! Once she started walking, we bought her pedipeds. They are pricier, but I think they were worth it. They were great for her learning to walk, and they lasted a long time. She wore them every day so we got tons of use out of them and I think they were very comfortable for her. She just grew out of her 12-18 mos pair, and now has a new pair of 18-24mos. Soon, though, when it is nice enough for her to play outside, I think we are going to go to Stride Rite and get her some 'real' hard soled shoes. GL!
my boys wear robeez and the target knockoffs. that's it. they are the best, IMO. they stay on, and they don't mess with their feet. (they're not really supposed to wear shoes when they're learning to walk, only soft shoes if anything.)
i have never paid full price for robeez - i either buy them used or get seasonal ones after the holiday (like, i got some pumpkin ones after halloween, and some gingerbread ones after christmas.) they really are the best.
my mom bought them some stride-rite sneakers that are v cute, but they are so hard to get on, and the boys can't stand in them anyway. they also have some little chuck taylors - oh man, SO cute, but they can't walk in them.
I really love Pedipeds - they're super expensive, but they seem to be the only shoes that my DDs are truly comfortable in. ?They now make both soft soled and harder soled shoes for both indoor and outdoor play, so I'm going to buy some for the summer from their "Flex" line. ?I've also heard great things about Preschoolians. ?We have 2 pairs of Stride Rite shoes as well, which have been great, but I find them hard to put on squirmy toddlers' feet.
Ditto pp's. We do pedipeds for outdoors and robeez for indoors. Pedipeds really do seem to be constructed very well, although it's hard for them to pull up when they are wearing them (they don't flex too easily).

I absolutely 100% recommend Stride Rite. The shoes are a bit pricey but they're durable, they fit well, and they last a long time! I've bought cheaper shoes elsewhere (Babies R Us, Target, Payless etc.) and they just don't fit right!
