I only pump after her first nursing of the day (around 4:30am) bc I am still so full and she usually goes right back to sleep so its easy. Sometimes I will pump before bed too, about two-three hours after I nursed her last. This is the only thing that helps me keep anything in my freezer stash. I don't feel like DD empties me as well as the pump does so I usually feel fuller at the end of the day than on a school day. Also when I just nursed exclusively over christmas break my supply dipped A LOT! not sure if other things contributed to it but I wouldn't go that long without pumping again. Hope that answered your question.
Yes, I pump in the mornings when I EBF on weekends. A few weeks ago I had a 4 day weekend and I didn't pump in the mornings. It made my supply drop significantly! I'm almost back to normal, but it definitely made my supply dip. I won't make that mistake again.
Nah...weekends are a break from work and the pump. If I feel I'm having a supply concern and need to try to increase it, I'll pump after she goes to bed. But generally, no, I don't, and I don't notice a problem.
I never pump on weekends. She nurses a bit more than I would have pumping sessions, and my supply spikes a bit on Mondays due to this.
This has been my experience for the past 5 months since I returned to work too, but today in two 20 min sessions, I was only able to pump 6 ounces, when I typically get 10 or more on a Monday (didn't work yesterday). I wasn't sure if this is because I am just getting over AF, the long weekend, or just stress/fluke.
I'm hoping things will even out tomorrow, but tonight I will have to try to pump to make up the difference. DS drinks 16 oz at daycare and he's quickly catching up with me and my freezer stash!
Usually not, unless I need to for some reason. My supply dips a tiny bit on Monday, because he only nurses one side at a time and I always pump both sides during the week... but by Friday night, there's usually 1 or 2 extra bottles in my mom's fridge to start the next week, and it all balances out.
However, when we went to Hawaii for 10 days, I only pumped once or twice so we could go to dinner without him, and when we got back, my supply had regulated all the way down to just what he needed... took me a couple days of fenugreek and extra pumping to get back up to speed. I'll never go that long without pumping again.
Re: Working Mom's who BF - a question
My silly Lily is almost 4.
