Primacare and Repliva Recall

I just heard that both of these RX's were recalled but can't really find any information about it. Even my pharmacy said they would need to look into it further. Does anybody know if the recall has anything to do with anything harmful towards the baby...or is it something stupid like the wrong color ink was used on the box? I take both of these RX's so I'm kinda freaked out?

Re: Primacare and Repliva Recall

  • The recall is only down to the distributor level (i.e. can still be sold at the pharmacy and "safe" to use). The problem at the manufacturer was that some meds have overdoses in the pill. I'm personally not taking mine anymore and I bought One-A-Days instead. My phamacist said I can still take them and fill my presc. but I say no.

  • I work in a pharmacy and the only thing that I know of is that Primacare changed their NDC (which is like a sku/bar code).   Not sure about any recalls....
  • my pharmacist wasn't sure either. I did see an article on it last week and it was something to do with the distributor. I don't think it is anything serious, but I am concerned as well.
  • Great! Primacare, That's what I take. *calls pharmacy to check*

  • Wow, really?  I'm on Repliva....now, I'm nervous!
  • I just called my doc concerning the Primacare because that's what I take! I'll post back on what I find out.
  • My doctor said she heard it was a voluntary recall because a pain medication may have gotten mixed in another drug it the same plant where the vitamins are made.  Nothing has been issued by the manufacturer and the only problem may be when we go to refill out prescriptions.  She said it is safe to keep taking them.
