I woke up this morning and I could not even open it. I went into work but got sent home because I couldn't handle the lights. It felt like pink eye at first but now the pain is much more than any I've felt with pink eye. Maybe it's just extreme? I don't know but I've got my computer and tv's brightness all the way down and I am living in my sunglasses.
Re: My eye is on fire! Icky PIP
Yes a warning would have been nice.

Ditto.
Please get yourself to a doctor, like now. Don't mess with your eyesight.
Oh my gosh that looks painful! My eye looks like that with pink eye I have a severe irritation. You should definitely get that checked out. Can you swing by a walk-in clinic after work or something? That's what I always do. The ones around here are usually open as late as 7 or 8.
GL with that, I hope you get relief soon.
and ditto everyone re: the doctor.
LOL
I'm going to try my pink eye drops first, then if it doesn't feel better I'll go to the clinic.
Do you wear contacts?
Both my eyes looked just like yours a few months ago. My contacts were great and then one day, out of the blue, I woke up and BOTH my eyes looked just like that.
I went to the eye doctor that day. It turns out I had a virus in my eyes. You can get it if you have recently been sick because it travels up your tear duct to your eye (eyes, ears and throat are all connected). He said under the microscope eye thingie, it looked liked white dots/blisters all over my cornea and the contacts rub on those and make your eye super inflamed.
He gave me an antibiotic + steroid eye drop that I had to use for 2 weeks and I couldn't wear my contacts.
Go to the eye doctor. If you have what I had, it will take a few days for your eyes to look normal again once you start using the drops.
I meant to add...
My eyes also felt like they were on fire and that I had sand in them. Lights also hurt really bad and my eyes wouldn't quit watering.
AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
This looks like your eye:
Thanks for the responses, ladies! Yes I do wear contacts.
I have had pink eye quite a few times and it feels similar to that, so like I said, I'll try the drops and if nothing happens, as soon as DH gets off work we'll go to the Convienent Care place we have here.
DH just reminded me, last night when I took a shower I got soap in my eye and before I went to bed I mentioned to him that I felt like I still had some in it...Could that have done all this??
What's a cornea bank??
Get thee to the optometrist
Don't self medicate, go to the doctor!
Last time my eye did what you're describing I had a scratch on my cornea and a nasty nasty eye infection (not pink eye). The doc said if I hadn't come in I could have lost my eyesight.
