i plan on running a marathon if i have too. but i wont medically induce until 39 weeks- i live 2 hours from the hospital, and i dont want to have a highway baby, lol. or drive the 2 hours and not be in real labor and get sent home. so yes.
My SIL did this and drank castor oil -- she swears it worked as she went into labor that night. It could have been coincidence but either way, I wouldn't chance anything possibly harming the baby. She will come when she is ready, although, it's a tempting idea!!
I plan on getting a nice pedi with a deep tissue foot and leg massage, at my favorite salon and day spa! That's how my cousin went into labor with her DS, and I figure it's worth a try. Plus, if it works I can look at my pretty toes while begging for mercy! lol
No doubt! When I hit 38 weeks with DD I was eating pineapple with every meal and my prenatal massage therapist would hit those "naughty spots." The evening my water broke (38 weeks 3 days) my day was like this: wake, pack hospital bag, prenatal massage-lots of ankle work, lots of pineapple, mani-pedi and I asked the girl to focus on the ankles, and that night lots of sex. Don't know if all that did it or not, but if the twins are cooking past 37.5 weeks- every day will be like that.

I'm guessing I'll start doing stuff like this around 38ish weeks... I'm sure the baby will come whenever he/she is ready, but it would be nice to have it sooner rather than later and if I can do something that isn't just flat out taking drugs I'm all for it!
The week of my due date I am going to trying walking, sex, spicy foods and a pedi. DH thinks he will come out on 5/12 not his due date of 5/22. I think 5/18.
Not me! The only reason for that is I won't be on my DH's health insurance until August 1st. If I deliver after 8/1, the cost for L&D will be $500 (his hospitalization copay).
However, if I have the baby before his insurance kicks in and I'm still on mine, I have a $2500 in-network deductible ($5000 out of pocket max) and I'm sure it'll cost me around the max. So I'll be keeping my legs crossed until August.
Yep. I did with DD -- got a pedicure that day and lots of accupressure on the key trigger points, sex, spicy food, walking. Don't know if it did much. But can't hurt when you're already full-term anyway. Plus those nachos were darn tasty!!!
I'm definitely gonna give things a shot, especially if they're things I enjoy/do anyway, but like a pp said, I'll probably try to avoid medical induction even if I'm overdue.
Re: Anyone planning on trying to naturally induce when you hit full term?
How do you mean? Like w/sex, walking, spicy foods, accupuncture, etc?
If so, then sure.
I plan on doing this stuff, but other than that.... let nature take its course
Hell yeah. I will be evicting this kid @ 38 weeks unless he comes out on his own.
That being said.... I don't think I'd let a Dr. induce even if I went a couple weeks overdue. I'm all good with natural stuff though.
