I don't know if it was an allergic reaction or if I didn't get them high enough - my doctor thinks the later.
For me (I took them two days) - it hurt like HELL. I was r-a-w, swollen and it burned. Walking was not a good time. Do to the s/e I was examined and then my doctor told me to take them orally for the diration.
I had the same reaction, but like pp said, it was b/c i wasn't inserting them in high enough. It is very uncomfortable if not inserted properly. If this does happen, try Balmex... it helps alleviate the pain / irritation.
Also, like pp said, make sure to wear a panty liner... they leak. TMI yes, but if it helps w/ pg, I'm all for it! GL!

I am not on the suppositories, but rather injecting a progesterone cream vaginally daily, and it is not that bad at all. I was nervous about it too, but so far so good. And not nearly as messing as I was thinking.

Which ones are you taking? I took endometrin and it wasn't that bad, just messy. I found it was better to put one in first thing in the morning, and then right when I got home from work. If I put it in before bed, it would all leak out the next morning in addition to the one I put in that morning. Another nestie told me her husband called them vagina rockets, so that's what I call them now!
I have taken and am currently taking Prometrium suppositories. They don't hurt at all, they're just very messy. Lots of icky yellow discharge (sorry, TMI). Just wear a panty liner and you'll be fine. Also, my nurse said to lie down for about 10 minutes after inserting so it can begin to absorb. Good luck!
As all the pp said - definitely wear a panty liner.
I too have found that if I lay down for a bit after inserting it that I don't "leak" as much. And yes, make sure you get it up there as far as possible. It has not been painful for me at all.

Thanks girls! I'll try to get it as high as possible! I can't believe I'm discussing these things online! Ha! BTW, I love the vagina rockets! So funny! Oh the things we go through!
Re: Starting progesterone suppositories tonight.
