If you had people bring you food or you pre-made something and froze it, what was your favorite? A friend of mine just had a baby boy (her 2nd) and I want to bring her something but need ideas.
homemade meatballs and sauce. All I had to do was heat up some pasta and it didn't feel like a "frozen meal".

I made stuffed shells and had them frozen--and they were wonderful and so easy. I think even easier than the lasagna that I had frozen. But any pasta dish is great.
The stuffed shells I made were just shells with ricotta cheese/mozz cheese inside and some spinach too. So easy!
Enchiladas are another that are so easy.
I think Hippy might have some ideas as well in her siggy link--I ""THINK"" that is who had them.
For frozen polenta lasagna was yummy! It was summer and really hot when A was born and one of my favorites was a yummy cold bulgar salad with veggies and french bread. We kept it in the fridge and snacked on it for days.

Baked feta macaroni- a family "specialty." It's the ultimate comfort food, plentiful, and a little different than the typical lasagna or stuffed shells. Here's the recipe:
Boil water and cook 1 lb box of casserole size elbow macaroni. Drain. Heat oven to 350. Put 9x13 pan in oven with 1-2 Tbsp butter and let melt. Remove pan and spread melted butter around bottom of pan. Beat together 8 eggs and 1 cup milk. Take 1/2 of the cooked noodles and spread in pan. Top with half of the egg mixture, then crumble 1/2 lb of feta on top. Repeat with remaining noodles, egg mixture and feta. Cut an additional 2 Tbsp butter into small pieces and layer on top of noodles. Top with 12-16 slices American cheese. Bake in oven until cheese is melted and golden brown, about 40 minutes.
ooh... that feta stuff sounds good. I am a lasagne girl, also I recieved cold pasta salad with a bunch of fresh veggies, I craved the veggies. I also liked when it was a whole meal, so pasta plus a salad plus bread. That way I didn't have to think about anything!
Re: What was your fav. pre-made meal after DC was born?
Lasagna! But, I have never froze it. My mom just made one and brought it over. We ate it for 3 days!
