Waiting for doctor to call me back..could this be it? ?I just went to the doctor today and they didnt think it would be happening anytime within the next few days.

The night my water broke, I had an internal that day and he said there was "no progress" and that it would be probably another 4 weeks out. Ha! I had her the next day! Good luck!

Yup or it increases risk of infection. When mine broke I was 6 cm dilated and my contractions stopped so they had to get me started on pitocin.

I spoke to the on-call doctor and she wants me to wait until 8am...now the contractions are starting to get really bad but only every ten minutes or so. ?What the heck am I supposed to do until 8am??

That's bs. If your water broke, you should head straight to L&D. I wouldn't have even called. Instructions from my doc were if water breaks or if contrax are 5 mins apart for an hour, go to L&D.

I'd go anyways and say sorry suckas... I'm here. Who knows how fast you could progress...

That's really bad form on their part.

There is absolutely no reason to go running to L&D. Don't bathe and don't have sex. Take a shower, try some nipple stimulation, have something to eat and try to get a little sleep. Your chance for infection is still only about 2% and going in this early is only going to increase your chance for major labor augmentation. I mean, if you're looking for a pitocin labor, by all means, go in! But otherwise I'd give it 4 or 5 hours and get to walking and see if you can get some good contractions going. Just keep an eye on baby's movement and your temp - you're fine.
