9 month old - only takes 4/5 ozs per feeding

Does anyone else experience this? I hear all my friends saying their babies are taking 8 ozs per feeding. My baby NEVER has done that. My doctor said some babies never take more than 4 ozs. Just curious if anyone else's 9 month old only drinks about 4 ozs per feeding. Please let me know.

DS is the same. 5 oz every 3 hours at daycare.

Mine! I am still nursing most of the time so I'm not 100% sure what he is getting when he nurses but when I give him a bottle he usually takes 3-5 ounces. Only twice did he finish a 6 ounce bottle. He's a chunky monkey (95%) so I guess he's getting enough.

Ditto. We supplement 1-2 bottles a day and he never takes more than 5 oz at a time. He's only in the 6th percentile, though. Every munchkin is different.

My DD at one point would take six ounces per feeding. That stopped at seven months when she started teething. Since then, she's only taking four to five ounces at each feeding. She's never been over six ounces.

same here. and probably closer to 4ounces when she nurses because she is impatient and only nurses for like three minutes each side.

Lucy's just went down to like 6-7 oz, and since shes been teething, she won't usually take her afternoon bottle

When I was still pumping for Evan he was getting 4oz per bottle. Now that I don't pump for him anymore he is getting 6oz of formula per bottle. He nurses when he is with me so he only has the formula when I am working. hth

I've got a 90% chunky monkey and when I feed him from a bottle (I normally breastfeed only) he rarely takes more than 4 oz.

Me too! He only takes 4-5 ounces at a time, but he still manages to be in the 75% for weight and 50% for height. I figure they eat what they need.

I feel very reassured to read all these replies. DD maxed out at 6 oz when she was 4 mos. old -- she only did that for about 2 days and only usually does 3 to 5 oz per feeding.

DD is almost 10 mo's and only takes a 6oz bottle when she wakes up or right before bed. The rest during the day at 4oz. She likes food better than the bottle.
