If you think it is something like conjunctivitus (sp?) AKA pink eye, I would go to your pcp because it may be caused by something more like a sinus infection. If you think it is more of a scratch or something on your eye, then I would go to the eye dr.
No, I was stupid. My contacts are 2 week disposibles and they needed to be thrown out about a month ago but I was waiting until we finished our refi but we had an issue with it. I've been not wearing them as much as a result but it was enough that one of my eyes is all red, swollen, etc.
DH told me today to call and get an appoitment but I'm not sure where to call, the eye doc or my pcp. DH told me to get new contacts and a new pair of glasses that way if I want to stretch out the contacts I can wear glasses as well and hey will be the correct prescriptions.
I have eye infections right now, and am using medicated drops 4x a day. I went to the eye doctor. I did serious damage to my eyes from wearing my contacts nonstop, using generic solution (not recommended, i guess). Find a good eye doctor- i'm never going back to the generic eye exam at sam's club! I found a great doctor!
