Dinner help - Biscuit topping anyone?

Does anyone have a good recipe for a biscuit topping on pot pie? The last time I just pulled one from the web and it wasn't good.

I have flour, butter, eggs, milk, cream, baking soda, baking powder... most normal household staples.

I do not have yogurt, lard, or buttermilk on hand.

Re: Dinner help - Biscuit topping anyone?

    • 2 cups of white flour
    • 4 tsp. baking powder
    • 1 tsp. salt
    • 4 tbsp. soft margarine or butter
    • 1 cup of milk (or more)

    Method:

    1. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
    2. Cut in butter that's been kept at room temperature or use soft margarine.
    3. Stir milk lightly into the flour mixture with a wooden spoon and adjust amounts to make sure that you have a moist dumpling dough.

I tried this the other day, not bad! could be more fluffy.flaky

  • Do you happen to have any Bisquick? That stuff will make you some great biscuit topping.
