Colorado Babies

Birthing centers

Hello ladies,

I am moving to Denver in early march and just started TTC. I know it's early to plan where I want to deliver but what can I say I am a planner! I am pretty sure I do not want to have a baby in a regular hospital unless something goes wrong. Can any of you suggest birthing centers, midwives, or even some hospitals with really high marks in the Denver area. Thanks!

Re: Birthing centers

  • I have looked for a birthing center as well in the Denver area but have not found one. I haven't looked terribly hard but still unlucky in finding anything. Sorry :( Good luck but you'll love Denver! :)

  • Have you tried posting on the Colorado Nest board?  I know several of those ladies have used birthing centers.
  • Mountain Midwifery in Englewood would be just the place for you.
  • Mountain Midwifery in Englewood is phenomenal. ?I am due at the end of May, and have had an amazing experience with them. ?Their midwives are fantastic, the birthing center is peaceful, immaculate and very homey. ?This is my fourth child, and I only wish I had known more about this option with the other three.

Their phone number is 303.788.0600. ?They serve families from all around Colorado. ?Good luck and let me know if you choose them.?

  • Skyridge is our newest hospital here. It's in Parker just off I-25 and Lincoln (right outside the Denver Tech Center) anyway they're not a birthing center BUT they do offer the ability to have water births...

  • I delivered at University Hospital Midwifery Center.  It's part of the hospital, but the midwives are spectacular.  If you can't go to the Mountain Midwifery Center, it's worth checking out.

  • Mountain Midwifery is the only BC in Colorado. I had my daughter there and it was AWESOME (had son at the hospital).
