Weight post... funny or sad

So today at my appointment the nurse moved the big weight (the one that goes every 50 pounds) twice without success when she moved the small one all the way up. She then asked me if I was standing in the middle of the scale. To which I replied with my weight for last week. She then said "oh you don't look it really, I didn't think it was that much"

*Sigh* thanks?

Soon to celebrate the day we met, even if the day before marks when we said goodbye.

  • People tell me that too.  I think they are actually shocked when they hear how much I weigh.  I guess it is a complement that you carry your weight well.  Who knows.

  • Tell her (1) that's rude and (2) it's 2009 and it's time to get a digital scale.
  • Yeah, that is weird! They should get a digital scale, then you can be mortified instantly! Thats how my dr office works!

  • My office also has this type of scale and they always start and the 50 lower than what I am and I tell her right away 'one more' so I don't have to see her go to the end of the 50 before eventually moving up.

I LOL's when I read this, because I am thankful every time I go that its digital and the weighing in process only takes like 3 seconds...

  • I get that a lot when I mention my weight. I take it as a compliment just so that I wont cry myself to sleep later.
  • i think its a compliment.. i would be more upset if i knew i was putting on the pounds and they pushed it further than it really should have been lol
