I've been trying for months now to drink more water, but it's hard. I don't particularly enjoy water. So, any tips on either how to make myself enjoy it more or what some other alternatives are?
set an alarm (your cell phone should have one) for the top of every hour
then slam an 8oz glass each time it goes off
of course, i'd stagger it so you get most of it in the morning/early afternoon... save one for dinner and one to last the whole evening after dinner/bf bed
I like tp's trick. I myself keep a stack of Dixie cups around. I try to down one or two a couple times a day. Or I'll add a Crystal Light flavor thing to bottled water.
You don't have to drink all your water every day. Some of your intake comes from other sources like fruit, veggies, etc.
Add a splash of juice. Add raspberries or cucumber. Drink smaller amounts. It was overwhelming to me to drink 8 8-oz glasses. But 4 oz was two chugs. If I did that twice an hour, I was easily able to do it.
Or alternatively, grab a 20 oz bottle and keep it with you always. Try to drink one each morning and one each afternoon. Then you only need about 1 more in the evening.
I try to make sure I had water before I allowed myself to have a soda or coffee or tea or whatever.

I have a big insulated cup that holds 52 oz and a big straw. I fill it up first thing in the morning and keep it on my desk all day. I add lemon juice too. Lots of lemon juice!! My SIL's kidney dr says water and fresh lemon juice are the best thing you can drink to flush out your kidneys--even better than cranberry juice. I usually finish it by lunch and never even realized I drank that much.
