Babies: 0 - 3 Months

What do u use while you are in your living room?

What do you put your baby in while he/she is sleeping while in your living room?

We only have the swing and bouncer downstairs but my baby sleeps a lot and don't like to leave him in them too long cause they don't seem too comfy. We have the pack and play but he uses that at night in our bedroom. We were thinking of moving the crib into our room but he really likes the vibration in the pack and play and i don't think he is ready for his crib yet.

I am thinking of getting another pack and play but i dunno if its worth doing that or just waiting a lil bit longer and then moving the pack and play downstairs.

  • We have the swing, bouncer and a PnP downstairs. He usually takes longer naps in his PnP and shorter naps in the swing and bouncer. I agree...they don't seem too comfy to me either...but he seems to like them regardless.
  • Loading the player...
  • We have a huge couch, so when I am watching tv or on the laptop, I have her right beside me flat or in the boppy.
  • For now she has been dozing in the bouncer in the living room. she isn't too fond of the swing yet.
  • We broke down and bought a second PNP.  The one in our room is the fancy schmancy, bells and whistles one - but we bought the base model for the downstairs.  They seem exactly the same to me, except the one upstairs has the hood and changing table.  It works out great, so when he's napping I don't have to run up and down the stairs all the time to check on him.  We figure when he grows out of his PNP in our room, we'll then bring it downstairs and either give the second one to the ILs for their house - or make it our designated "travel" PNP.

  • We bought a cheap ($60) pack and play for our downstairs, although we pretty much stopped using it once DS hit about a month and a half.  We figured the second pnp was a good investment for us, though, because it will soon go to the ILs for when they watch DS at their house.
  • She either naps in the PnP or on my lap if we're downstairs.  Sometimes she takes her morning naps in her crib (which is in her room).

  • We got a stroller with a detachable bassinet (my favorite purchase!). ?We put him in the bassinet to nap, either on the floor or on the stroller (if the dog is too interested in him or if I'm in the kitchen and want him higher up where I can see him easier). ?If he's fussy sleeping, I sometimes let him nap in my lap or put him in the moby wrap to sleep. ?He sleeps in his crib at night. ?I haven't opened the pnp my SIL handed down to us.
  • We pull the pack n play into the living room, but our bedroom is on the same level as the living room. It would be a hassle if it was in our upstairs.

  • If we lived by family I am sure we would do the same and leave one at the IL house but we are in Germany and PNP are limited here on base... I guess I will see how this week goes. We were spending most of our time in our bedroom the first couple of weeks and we just moved the swing and bouncer downstairs. I think i can lay him on the couch during the day when DH is at work but DS might also sleep longer in bouncer.

    Thanks for your help!

  • When he was that young, DS went in the Rainforest bouncer on the kitchen table or in the PnP in the guest room. We never had any place for him to sleep in the living room.

  • DD always naps in her crib now, but when she was younger we had the moses basket in the living room. very cozy and very easy to move around and not as expensive as a pack n play
  • We have the Boppy travel swing in the living room. DD loves it.
