any1 give reg milk early??

i know you have to wait till 12months to give regular milk...but i know a FEW people who gave their DC regular milk at 11months......anyone ever do this??

    We started introducing it at 11 months. Just an oz in the sippy to get him used to it. He probably took a couple of sips max and let it dribble out of his mouth. He's 11.5 months now and we are beginning the transition.

    I asked my pedi about it last time cause I am trying to stop pumping, but I have a lot of milk in the freezer... just not sure how much... he said if it was just a couple weeks before she turns one, he doesn't see an issue, but he said not to go much more than that.

    right - and I think the issue is not that it is bad if they have it earlier... it just doesn't have all the nutrients they need at that point, right?  So, having some is fine, if they're also getting their nutrients in BM or formula... at least I think that is right :D

    i just started putting it in his sippy during meals.  he takes a few sips and that's about it. he is sloe to get used to new tastes, and is starting daycare in a month so i wanted him to start getting used to it. we're still bf'ing the rest of the time.

    We did ...DD has always done fine with other dairy, and she did great with whole milk. We introduced it slowly.


    Dx: PCOS, Anovulation, RPL

    Trying again. June 2011 - Clomid/1500 mg Met / Baby Aspirin - BFFN!

    July 2011 Femara/1500mg Met/ Baby Aspirin - c/p

    August 2011 - Femara/1500mg Met/ Baby Aspirin - c/p

    September 2011 - Puregon/ 1500mg Met/ Baby Aspirin - BFFN!!!!

    • At 9 to 12 months, babies can be offered pasteurized, whole fat (homogenized/3.25% MF) milk once they are eating a variety of foods, including iron-rich choices at most meals.
    • Offer milk in a cup.
