Thanks. I'll check out the prilosec. I'm going to give it a few days and see if it persists. I have had one time episodes of heartburn earlier but this is the worst its been and the first time its come 2 times in 24 hrs. So if it keeps coming I'll call the doc.

ive had heartburn everyday since i hit 5 weeks. ive tried every heartburn med thats out there and drinking milk. ive even watched my diet. nothings worked so ive given up on trying to stop it. eventually you get used to it.

Try eating a handful of plain whole almonds. My co-worker swears by it. I didn't get the heart burn until the past month or so and they have actually worked for me. Plus you don't get that god awful after taste that you get with Tums!
You can get Prilosec (and generic) over the counter. You may want to try Zantac or Pepcid (or there generics) first. They kick in in about 30 min. Prilosec is only for severe heartburn and can take several days to start to work.
