morning sickness vs. stomach virus?

This may be a silly post, but I'm right around 10 weeks pregnant, and I've thrown up a few times, but nothing serious like I've heard some of you post about! This morning I woke up feeling terrible and I've been throwing up ALL morning. I can't tell if it's morning sickness just starting now at 10 weeks, or if it's some sort of stomach virus. Have any of you developed morning sickness this far along??

Re: morning sickness vs. stomach virus?

  • Its possible to develop m/s this late, but I had a stomach virus shortly before our BFP and it felt totally different than by m/s. With the virus I had fever and body aches and just felt sick all over.. With my m/s it was just the constant nausea/vomiting without any other symptoms. Either way, hope you feel better soon.

  • at least here in southern ny there is a really nasty stomach bug going around.  i hate to say it, but see how you feel tomorrow?  and just take it easy and eat boring, blands foods.  maybe the baby didn't like something you ate yesterday?
  • My m/s hit at week 7, but somewhere around week 10 i started to feel better for a day and then BAM...it hit even worse.  It has since started waning down though (hopefully for good).

  • I had the stomach flu and at first i thought it was m/s. Its hard to tell I guess you just have to wait it out and see if it gets better. The stomach flu was the only time i threw up during the first tri and i totally thought it was morning sickness but then two days later i was fine so i konw it was the stomach flu. My m/s did get worse around 10-12 weeks though, i started gagging at smells a lot more and my stomach got upset a lot more.

  • I had nausea during the first 8-10 weeks (I don't have a ticker but I'm about 14.5 weeks) but no barfing.  I just got over a hideous stomach virus though.  There is something going around and I agree with the poster who said that you feel sick all over.  However, since I haven't had any morning sickness I don't know how it would compare.  I hope you feel better!

  • Thanks, ladies. I think it was a stomach virus Tongue Tied  I still have a stomach ache, but thankfully everything else seems to have subsided. It turned into more than just puking. Ugh, sorry tmi!  Lol
