I asked my doctor about traveling at my first appt mainly because my family lives in Chicago and I live in wyoming. He told me that I could travel up until my 7-8 month mark...of course that all depends on how my pregnancy is going. Besides all that though im pretty sure you wont want to be in a car for 8 hours that far along.
You do not want to be 8 hours away from your OB & your hospital.
What if you went into labor in Chicago? ?Have your baby in the Chicago hospital? ?With a doctor you've never met before, who doesn't know your birth plan? ?Drive 8 hours back home with a 3-day-old when you are discharged?
Travel was one of the first things my OB told me about at my first appt. She says don't even consider going more than an hour away after 36 weeks. A lot of doctors say 34.
There was a similar oot wedding of a very close friend of mine 3.5 weeks from my sons edd. I really didn't have plans to go but I asked my doctor what if I decided that I wanted to and she told me that she was perfectly fine with my going if I wanted to go but that she would need to give me my charts before I left just in case. That pretty much guaranteed that I wouldn't be attending!

Attending a wedding at 9 months isn't the problem. It's the 8 hour drive.

None of it makes sense. ?I'm sorry.?
Um, I gave birth a week and a half before my EDD.
That is crazy and I'm SURE your OB would NOT recommend your traveling that far that late in your pg.
Exactly. Don't even try it, unless you want to potentially deliver on the side of the road.
